Solicit Donations

Online or via email:

1. Check that the donor isn't already in the "Donors Approached" list below.

2. Copy sample wording and responses and customize it for your email or online forms.

4. Email us so we can add your request to the "Donors Approached" list so that the same donor is not bothered multiple times.

In person or over the phone:

1. Check that the donor isn't already in the "Donors Approached" list below.

2. Talking points:

   1. We're a diverse public school. Over 60% of our 814 students live in socioeconomically disadvantaged households.

   2. Our PTSA provides staff with supplies and program grants that benefit their classes, clubs, or the whole school.

   3. We hope to raise $2,500 (10% of our annual budget) through an online auction from April 7–18.

   4. We would be grateful for donations to auction off, especially of gift cards/certificates since we have limited volunteers and storage for tangible items.

   5. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent of the law.
